Transcribed copy of the records and meeting minutes, 1797-1849, of the Jamaica Fire Engine Company of Jamaica, Queens, New York. Includes minutes of meetings of the Company firemen, board of trustees, and inhabitants of the fire district, from the time of its founding to the year of its dissolution. Records the results of general elections, treasurers reports, lists of subscribers and firemen, and miscellaneous accounts. Also includes a photograph, ca. 1880s, of a fire company posed with rope and ladder wagon. Compiled by J. Browne, jr., Morris M. Fosdick, and Henry M. Johnson.
